Happy New Year, my friends! 🎆 So here we are…officially we quietly slid into 2021 after what was a dumpster fire of 2020! We started last year with all the excitement, potential, and hope, but then ya know, global pandemic happened! 😳 What it actually translated to was a lot of unexpected lessons, time to focus on the simple things, and patience along every twist and turn!

Last year, my word of the year was vulnerability. My goal was to open myself up, to speak freely from my hearts, and create a meaningful connections within my community. Overall, I maintained that focus throughout the year; although, it manifested in a different way than I necessarily expected. And that brings us to 2021!

New Year, New Beginning

So on the 1st day of 2021, my wonderful friend Jess messaged me sharing her word for the year. I told her that I hadn’t fully decided on my word…maybe it was still the shelf shock from last year. 😬 But it encouraged me to think more about it. Throughout the day, I had already been working on putting the pen to paper while dreaming, planning, and masterminding some upcoming projects I want to see to fruition this year.

Our intention creates our reality.

Apparently, I just need a little extra push to finalize my word, to hone my intention, and laser-shift my focus with a full heart. My focus for the year is consistency in all areas of my life, but that word didn’t fully translate my Core Desired Feeling of excitement and intentionality I wanted to embody. So I went to my trusty Thesaurus & Dictionary to fully research my word.

And then it appeared in from of me with such clarity. My ‘word of the year 2021’ is buoyancy. It means you have the power to float; the lightness in spirit; and the resilience despite external pressures. This year will be one of flexibility as we navigate the obvious and unforeseen circumstances that we learned about so intimately from last year. Here’s to a New Year full of hope, heart, and lightness! 💗

Share your word of the year, if you have one. If not, consider it! 😘

Coming soon: heart-led goal setting and envisioning for the New Year!
